The attribution mess

Every platform wants credit. Your bank account only cares what actually paid.

Meta says it drove the sale. Google says it assisted. Your email tool says it deserves the revenue. Stripe shows the payment but not the path.

Meanwhile, a new discovery path is growing: people ask ChatGPT or Perplexity for product recommendations, get an answer, and arrive at your store from a source your analytics may label “direct” or “referral.”

Last-click is a story, not the truth

The last click gets the credit, but the decision may have started in an AI answer, a comparison article, or a friend's screenshot.

AI referrals hide in the noise

A visit from ChatGPT or Perplexity may look like “direct” or “referral” in a standard report. You can't tell whether AI is sending buyers or browsers.

Revenue isn't tied to the page

You know a payment happened. You don't know which landing page, source, or country produced the customer—or what the AOV looks like by channel.

Analytise connects the visit to the payment and tracks AI answers as a separate view—so you can see which traffic is worth more.

A weekly ecommerce review

Five questions that separate traffic from revenue.

  1. 1

Which source is linked to revenue—not just sessions?

Connect Stripe or Dodo. Look at revenue by source, not just sessions. A channel with 10K visits and no revenue is a content channel; a channel with 1K visits and $5K revenue is a business channel.

What to check: Revenue by source, revenue by country, AOV.

  2. 2

What is the AOV and time to convert?

AOV tells you whether you're attracting higher-value customers. Time to convert tells you whether the buying cycle is same-day or two weeks. Both change how you judge a campaign.

What to check: AOV, time to convert, revenue per visitor.

  3. 3

    Is AI sending buyers?

Group AI referrals by platform. Compare ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, and Gemini on sessions, revenue, AOV, and time to convert. See which AI sources are linked to paying visitors—not just clicks.

What to check: AI referral revenue table.

  4. 4

Are we visible in the AI answers that matter?

Track category and comparison prompts: “best [category] for [audience],” “[brand] vs [competitor],” “is [brand] good for [use case].” See mentions, share of voice, citations, and competitor gaps.

What to check: AI visibility overview and competitor gaps.

  5. 5

Which page needs the next fix?

Use top pages, entry pages, and autocaptured form submissions to find the leak. A high-traffic product page with no add-to-cart clicks is a different problem from a low-traffic page with high conversion.

What to check: Top pages, entry pages, autocapture, journeys.

The setup

The ecommerce metrics that fit in one dashboard.

Revenue and orders

Connect Stripe or Dodo Payments. Analytise creates revenue conversions from paid payments, syncs every five minutes, and backfills the last year. See revenue, conversions, AOV, time to convert, and revenue per visitor.

Why it matters: revenue is the only metric that pays the bills.

Revenue by source and country

See the referrer, UTM source, or AI platform linked to the payment—and where the customer is located. Use it to decide where to invest next.

Why it matters: a global chart is not a channel strategy.

AI referral revenue

Group payments from AI-referred sessions by platform: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and more. See which AI platforms are linked to revenue, not just sessions.

Why it matters: AI is a new front door; measure it like one.

AI visibility

Track category, comparison, and use-case prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overview. See mentions, share of voice, sentiment, citations, and competitor gaps.

Why it matters: the answer can shape the shortlist before the click.

Top pages and entry pages

See which product, category, and content pages attract visitors and which ones send them away. Use entry pages to understand the first impression.

Why it matters: traffic quality starts at the landing page.

Autocapture and journeys

See clicks, rage clicks, dead clicks, and form submissions. Follow the path from source to page to purchase. Find the friction that analytics alone doesn't show.

Why it matters: a broken form can look like a traffic problem.

The AI shelf

Your products are being recommended in answers you can't see.

  1. 1

    What buyers ask

People ask AI for “the best [product] for [use case],” “[brand] vs [brand],” or “is [brand] worth it?” The answer may recommend a competitor, cite a review site, or mention your product with the wrong price.

  2. 2

    What Analytise shows you

Analytise tracks the prompts that matter to your category and shows whether you're mentioned, how you're described, which competitors appear instead, which sources the AI cites, and which topics need content or PR work.

Separately, AI referral revenue shows whether AI-referred sessions lead to purchases. A mention does not prove a click.

Prompt examples

  • best [category] for [audience]
  • best affordable [category]
  • [brand] vs [competitor]
  • is [brand] good for [use case]
  • [category] for [season/occasion]
  • best [category] with [feature]
Prompts are account-wide; limits are shared across all websites.

What this is not

A revenue and traffic layer—not a merchandising suite.

Analytise is website/marketing analytics with payment revenue and AI visibility. It is not:

  • A Shopify app with native Shopify Payments sync.
  • A SKU-level merchandising or margin analytics platform.
  • A multi-touch attribution or ad-spend ROAS platform.
  • An abandoned-cart recovery or email automation platform.
  • A product information management (PIM) or inventory tool.

How to handle other checkout providers

The tracking script works on Shopify, WooCommerce, custom storefronts, and any site where you can add a script. Native revenue sync is Stripe and Dodo. If you use another provider, send purchase conversion events with value, currency, and transaction_id via GTM/dataLayer or window.analytise.trackConversion().

What about refunds?

Stripe/Dodo refunds are netted against the matching payment where the gateway exposes them. Analytise is not a returns management or margin analytics suite.
